Thai Airways flight TG663 from Shanghai to Bangkok returned to its departure airport on November 4, 2026, after pilots detected a crack in the left-side cockpit windshield during the flight.

According to a statement issued by the airline, the aircraft departed Shanghai Pudong International Airport at 8:08 a.m. local time. During the flight, the pilots discovered a crack in the cockpit windshield and decided to return to Shanghai as a safety precaution.

The aircraft landed back at Shanghai Pudong International Airport. Thai Airways confirmed that no injuries were reported.

The incident affected passengers and crew members, prompting the airline to arrange hotel accommodation for those impacted and coordinate with partner airlines to transfer passengers to alternative flights.

Thai Airways also announced changes to the aircraft operating flights TG662 and TG663 on November 5. Larger aircraft will be deployed to accommodate transferred passengers and provide additional capacity for those affected by the disruption.
