LOT Polish Airlines and Thai Airways International have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a codeshare partnership, with the planned launch set for the beginning of the 2027 summer season, subject to regulatory approval.

The proposed agreement will build on the airlines’ existing interline arrangement and is intended to offer passengers more connection options across selected destinations in Europe, Asia and Oceania.

The announcement coincided with the inauguration of LOT’s new Warsaw-Bangkok route, giving the Polish airline a direct link to Thailand’s capital and a foundation for expanding cooperation with Thai Airways.

Robert Ludera, LOT Polish Airlines’ board member and chief commercial officer, said the new route creates additional opportunities for travelers seeking access to Thailand and destinations across Asia, Australia and Oceania. He described Thai Airways as a natural partner for combining the airlines’ networks and attracting more visitors from Asia to Poland.

Under a codeshare agreement, airlines can sell seats on selected flights operated by their partner under their own flight codes. Once the planned partnership is in place, the arrangement could make it easier for passengers to book connecting journeys across the two carriers’ networks.

The airlines have not yet detailed the routes or flights that will be included in the proposed codeshare. Those details will depend on the partnership’s development and the required regulatory approval.

The planned cooperation comes as LOT expands its links between Poland and Asia through the new Warsaw-Bangkok service. For Thai Airways, the agreement could create additional access to Poland and onward connections through LOT’s European network.

The proposed partnership is expected to take effect at the start of the 2027 summer season, provided the necessary approvals are secured.
