Miami International Airport (MIA) is offering travelers another cultural experience with the opening of a new art exhibit featuring 13 large-scale public artworks as part of The Underline project. The exhibit allows visitors and travelers to experience the artworks scattered throughout the project’s route without leaving the airport grounds.
The exhibition, which opened on November 4, 2026, was launched at a gala event attended by the airport's CEO, Miami-Dade County officials, artists and other senior officials involved in the project.
The works are displayed on the Connecting Communities Wall, near Gate 11 on the landing level, and will remain open to the public until May 2, 2027. The exhibition features local and international artists.
Behind the exhibition is The Underline project, in which unused urban space under the Metrorail elevated railway was transformed into a linear park approximately 16 km long, including walking and cycling trails, green spaces, art centers and community spaces.
The project stretches from the Miami River in the Brickell area to Dadeland South Station in the Kendall area, and is designed to connect neighborhoods and communities through nature, culture, physical activity, and events.

As part of its activities, more than 200 free events and activities are held there each year.
The new exhibition joins the cultural activities of MIA Galleries, which has been operating at the airport since 1996, with the aim of integrating art and exhibitions into the public space and enriching the passenger experience, while showcasing the culture, landscape, and artistic creation of South Florida.
