Italy’s flag carrier, co-owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Deutsche Lufthansa AG, ITA Airways, has announced an extension of its suspended flights to and from Tel Aviv until the end of October.
The company that guarantees the country’s top connections with international destinations announced that the suspension of these flights will be in effect until October 31. The decision will also include flights AZ809 and AZ815 on the Tel Aviv–Rome Fiumicino route, which were scheduled for November 1.
The airline, which previously suspended the same flights until the end of September, announced that passengers can rebook their flights at a later date or get a refund.
It is noteworthy that ITA launched codeshare flights with Lufthansa at the start of the year as a first step toward the full integration into the group, following the acquisition of a 41% stake, with the option to increase the stake or take full ownership by 2033.
While some of the group’s airlines, including Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines, have resumed their flights to Israel, others are still in the process. SWISS is expected to renew its flights on September 25, while Eurowings plans to restart flights in the winter schedule beginning at the end of October.
