Air France and Delta Change Ground Handling Partner. France’s national airline and an important member of the Air France-KLM Group, Air France, and major U.S. global airline Delta have informed KLM of their decision to seek an alternative ground handling partner at Amsterdam Schiphol, the Netherlands’ main airport

The decision will directly affect their operations below the wing, which include baggage loading and unloading. The two parties will invite several proposals from different service providers, followed by a final selection that will establish who will be next in line to handle these activities.

This decision, effective immediately, has already impacted KLM’s operations, with emphasis on the Ground Services department. Moreover, the overall financial consequences, as well as the impact on employees, are to be further assessed.
