It’s official: 100 million passengers in five years. This is the number of travelers who have flown into Berlin's new airport, Brandenburg Airport (BER), since its grand opening roughly five years ago.
Following a slow start due to the coronavirus pandemic, the airport, in an official statement, has called the growth “stable”, while also naming October 17, 2025, the busiest day since BER opened, with 101,893 passengers.

Istvan Szabo, Chief Operating Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH: "We have reached an important milestone. 100 million passengers illustrate how much BER Airport has developed since it began operations," said Istvan Szabo, Chief Operating Officer of Flughafen Berlin Brandenburg GmbH.
He added that, following the first few years of the Corona pandemic, the airport currently “plays a central role in the transport infrastructure of the Berlin-Brandenburg region and beyond.”
“With its extensive route network, BER offers important and attractive tourist and business connections within Germany, to Europe, and around the world."
In August, BER announced that both of its terminals were equipped with 24 advanced CT scanner stations for more streamlined screenings.
