Expanding aviation agreement. El Al announces the expansion of its codeshare partnership with SAS, the Scandinavian airline ranked third worldwide in terms of punctuality. Starting January 15, 2026, passengers will have the opportunity to book direct flights between Tel Aviv and Copenhagen via El Al, even when flying with SAS.

As part of this codeshare agreement, El Al and SAS customers can purchase tickets for flights operated by SAS under an El Al flight code (LY) and earn frequent flyer points on these flights.

El Al says future passengers can expect to "enjoy greater comfort, greater flexibility and more options" for their upcoming trips to and from Northern Europe. Tickets are already available on the El Al website and through travel agents.

El Al's codeshare agreement with SAS began two years ago, in January 2024, for flights to Oslo via Amsterdam, Paris, London Heathrow, Milan Rome and Zurich; Stockholm via Amsterdam, Paris, London Heathrow, Milan, Rome, Zurich, Berlin and Frankfurt and Copenhagen via Amsterdam, Paris, London Heathrow, Milan, Rome, Zurich, Berlin, Frankfurt and Munich.

The agreement between El Al and SAS was signed in 2023 at the IATA conference in Istanbul, where the agreement with Japan's All Nippon Airways (ANA) was also signed.
