What's New in Spain?

Wizz Air will add two new international routes from Santander and Menorca. From March 29, 2026, passengers will enjoy a bi-weekly direct connection between Santander and Tirana, on Thursdays and Sundays, with fares starting at €29.99.

The route will build on the airline's existing presence in northern Spain, which already benefits from Santander-Bucharest flights, while opening a new link between Spain and Albania.

Starting June 9, 2026, Wizz Air will fly three times a week between Menorca and Budapest. The chosen service days are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, with fares starting at €35.99.

June will also see Wizz Air increase frequencies on existing routes, boosting the number of weekly flights between Barcelona and Budapest to 16. In parallel, Málaga-Budapest services will be increased to seven per week.

New Route from Albania

Summer 2026 will include two new routes from Tirana International Airport. The first will mirror the Spanish expansion, with the new Tirana–Santander service launching on March 29, 2026, operating twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays.

The second route will link Tirana with Kalamata in the south of Greece, marking the company’s first operations at Kalamata Airport with bi-weekly flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays, starting March 31, 2026.

Tickets for both routes are already on sale via wizzair.com and the WIZZ app, with fares starting from ALL 2,490 ($30) for Kalamata and ALL 2,990 ($36) for Santander. Kalamata joins the network as a brand-new station, adding another Greek destination to Wizz Air’s map.

Known for its coastline, food scene, and access to historic sites such as ancient Messene and the Mani Peninsula, the city has been growing in popularity as a relaxed leisure destination.

Santander, meanwhile, offers something different, combining Atlantic beaches, a compact city center, and access to the green landscapes of northern Spain.

Wizz Air currently offers more than 130 routes to 31 destinations across1 6 countries from Spain, finishing 2025 with close to 10 million passengers. From Albania, the airline operates 63 routes to 61 cities in 20 countries, ending last year with more than 6.5 million passengers and an impressive completion rate of 99.83%.
