About a week after the storm that hit Greece and caused great panic among tourists due to the phone warnings they received, another short and powerful storm is hitting Greece today (January 26, 2026).

According to Greek authorities, there are several active warnings, including a thunderstorm warning for large parts of the country and a warning for very strong winds expected throughout the country, including in the Attica region, home to the capital, Athens. Officials have also announced that, due to the strong winds, disruptions to maritime activity are also to be expected.

The current storm is expected to be short-lived and bring heavy rain, but these rains are expected to stop tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026.

As we reported last weekend, the previous storm also brought heavy rainfall that caused partial paralysis of Athens for many hours.
