Miami-Dade Police announced that they investigated a suspicious object found in the South Terminal area of Miami Airport last night (January 25, 2026).
According to the official announcement, TSA checkpoints in Areas G, H, and J and adjacent areas have been evacuated and closed.
About three hours after the first report of the incident, the airport and police issued a statement stating that the incident was over, but advised passengers flying through Miami Airport (MIA) to consider the possibility of delays and arrive at the airport earlier than planned.
According to several publications in the United States, the suspicious object discovered at the airport was a bomb, prompting steps to ensure the safety of passengers and crew. Furthermore, there were no significant disruptions to airport operations despite the incident.
On Saturday, we reported on another airport incident that took place at the Detroit Metropolitan, where six people were injured and treated at the scene following a vehicle crashing into ticketing counters.
