Creating the customers of the futureQatar Airways has unveiled its first-ever digital destination, “QVerse Island,” in the popular game of Fortnite.  

The digital island offers users an interactive experience that showcases Doha, the capital city, and connects them to the company's brand experience in an innovative way.

The game begins at Hamad International Airport, where players will meet Sama, the airline's AI-powered cabin member, and explore several locations, including "The ORCHARD".

Throughout the game, players take part in mission-based challenges across the island and at familiar Doha landmarks. The island also features hidden areas where "golden tickets" can be found, offering the chance to win flight prizes and other rewards.

Sama serves as a guide within QVerse Island and integrates the brand into Qatar Airways’ digital experiences, which include the QVerse platform, online brand storytelling, experiential activities and interactive environments.

As the company explains, the launch of the digital island aims to expand its presence across digital channels, including social networks and gaming environments, and influence users' travel intentions before they search for a trip. In doing so, Qatar Airways creates a connection between virtual experiences and real-life travel and opportunities to win prizes.

The launch of the QVerse Island further aligns with the company’s investments in advanced digital experiences, including the deployment of high-speed Starlink connections across its global fleet of aircraft. The company currently operates more than 120 aircraft with Starlink, enabling passengers to enjoy ultra-fast Wi-Fi with speeds of up to 500 Mbps on a growing number of routes across six continents.

The combination of QVerse Island, Sama and Starlink technology underscores Qatar Airways’ commitment to creating a connected and digital travel experience that begins even before takeoff.
