The travel platform has released its 2026 Travelers' Choice Awards rankings in the Best of the Best Destinations category, based on millions of traveler reviews and ratings worldwide. This is the first publication of 2026, and includes a variety of categories, including top and trending destinations, culture, food, honeymoons and solo travel.
In the global ranking, Indonesia's Bali ranked first as the world's leading tourist destination for 2026, thanks to its green landscapes, white-sand beaches, and a blend of nature, culture, and unique experiences.

Photo: Shutterstock/IberiaIn the trending destinations category for 2026, Madeira, Portugal, was ranked first in the world, as a destination that attracts attention thanks to its breathtaking nature, relaxed pace of life and a combination of adventure and relaxation. Tbilisi, Georgia, surprisingly came in second place, which continues to strengthen as a vibrant urban destination with a developing art scene. The list also includes Chicago, Milan, Glasgow, Abu Dhabi and other destinations in Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Dubai ranks second for the first time, thanks to its mix of traditional and international cuisines. In the United States, New York also leads in this category.
In the cultural destination rankings, Singapore ranked first worldwide, overtaking Bali, which had led last year. London climbed to second place, and Krakow, Poland, entered the top three. The list also includes Paris, Rome, Kyoto and Hanoi.
In the honeymoon category, Bali continues to lead in 2026, followed by Mauritius, the Maldives, St. Lucia and Positano, Italy, as particularly sought-after romantic destinations.
Tripadvisor says that the ratings are based on the quality and quantity of reviews about accommodations, restaurants, and attractions, collected between October 2024 and September 2025.
