Flying to Northern Europe? Now it’s easier than ever! TAROM and Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) have teamed up to considerably simplify the flying experience between Romania and Northern Europe. Accordingly, the two carriers have launched a new codeshare partnership that opens up smoother connections from Bucharest to key Scandinavian cities, including Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm, with one ticket and far fewer headaches along the way.

The idea is simple. Combine the route networks of both airlines and make it easier to move between them, especially for travelers who want flexibility without juggling multiple bookings. Since both TAROM and SAS are part of the SkyTeam alliance, the flights fit neatly into existing alliance benefits.

Partnerships between SkyTeam members are designed to improve the travel experience and are a defining element of the quality offered by traditional airlines. Starting today, a single ticket and a single baggage check-in make travel from Bucharest to the main Scandinavian destinations simpler and more efficient,” said Bogdan Costaș, TAROM General Manager.
From SAS’s point of view, the deal helps strengthen ties between Scandinavia and Romania, two regions that do not always enjoy direct air links.

By combining our networks and ensuring seamless connections via key European hubs, we offer customers more freedom of choice, flexibility and comfort during their journey. Together with TAROM, we aim to provide a coherent and reliable travel experience for all passengers,” said Paul Verhagen, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of SAS.
Tickets for the new codeshare flights will go on sale today, February 3, 2026, via the airline's website or partner travel agencies. The first eligible flights will operate from February 9, 2026.
Beyond new routes, the partnership brings the usual SkyTeam perks that frequent flyers value. Passengers can check in once and have their baggage tagged all the way through to their final destination. Business Class travelers and SkyTeam Elite Plus members get priority services at the airport, along with lounge access during their journey. Loyalty members will also earn miles across the entire itinerary, whether through Flying Blue for TAROM customers or EuroBonus for SAS flyers.
“TAROM is constantly developing commercial partnerships such as codeshare and interline, through which passengers from Romania have access to an extensive network of international destinations,” said Narcis Obeadă, TAROM's commercial director. He added that more agreements are on the way as the airline continues to build connections between Romania and the wider world.
