Largest-ever landing gear exchange agreement for Boeing. The leading global aerospace company made the announcement during the Singapore Air Show. Under the deal, Boeing will provide landing gear exchange services for more than 75 aircraft in Singapore Airlines Group's 737 MAX and 787 fleets.
This agreement strengthens the companies' collaboration and includes customized solutions that provide flexibility in aircraft maintenance planning. The service is expected to reduce aircraft downtime and optimize the life cycle of the aircraft, thereby improving the availability of the Singaporean company's fleet.
Boeing's Landing Gear Exchange Program provides customers with rapid access to ready-to-use landing gear systems through a global inventory management system and partners, eliminating the need to maintain large spare parts inventories at maintenance stations and ensuring high aircraft availability for scheduled flights.
The current agreement integrates with Boeing's broad portfolio of after-sales services, which also includes parts distribution, repair management and logistics solutions, designed to improve fleet readiness and reduce the impact of maintenance on ongoing operations.
William Ampofo, senior vice president, Parts & Distribution and Supply Chain, Boeing Global Services, said: "
Our relationship with the SIA Group is built on delivering dependable solutions. By combining our global inventory and rapid distribution capabilities with the carrier's maintenance planning, this agreement helps deliver parts faster and closer to operations-reducing downtime and supporting consistent, reliable service."
Boeing, which recently announced a significant collaboration with El Al as part of an innovative project to develop sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) together with the Technion, also inked a major aircraft deal with Air Cambodia at the Singapore Airshow. The new agreement covers up to 20 Boeing 737 MAX jets, marking the airline's pioneering Boeing purchase.
