The low-cost airline concluded 2025 with strong operating figures, increased volume, fleet expansion, and ongoing improvement in operational performance. During the year, the company strengthened its destination network, increased the number of flights and led in passenger volume, while focusing on operational reliability and improving the customer experience.
During the year, 42 new aircraft joined the company's fleet, enabling operational expansion and improved fuel efficiency. Wizz Air operated approximately 335,000 scheduled flights and launched more than 320 new routes across Europe and beyond.
Demand remains high, with 68.6 million passengers in 2025, an increase of 9.4% over the previous year.

The rate of takeoffs with an accuracy of up to 15 minutes was 73.38%, and the rate of landings with an accuracy of up to 15 minutes reached 77.98%. The improvement, explained Wizz, is mainly due to investments in maintenance, ground operations, crew planning, and operational control.
In 2026, Wizz Air is positioned for continued growth, with an emphasis on strengthening its presence in Central and Eastern Europe and expanding into markets with significant untapped potential. The company is expected to continue investing in digital tools, operational excellence, and a young fleet of aircraft, with the aim of improving punctuality, operational resilience, and the passenger experience.
The company further notes that its goal for the coming year is to expand operations, serve over 80 million passengers, and set a new standard for efficiency and reliability in European aviation.
“2025 was a defining year for Wizz Air,” said József Váradi, CEO of Wizz Air. “We expanded our fleet at pace, opened hundreds of new routes, and carried more passengers than ever before, all while strengthening the reliability of our operations. This combination of scale and improving performance is exactly what sets us apart.”
Váradi concluded by saying: "In 2026, we intend to go even further. Our focus is firmly on accelerating growth in Central and Eastern Europe and unlocking opportunities in markets that remain underserved and full of potential. We are building an airline that doesn't just follow demand - we create it. And we will continue pushing boundaries to deliver more choice, more affordability, and a consistently better experience for millions of travellers."
Earlier in the week, Wizz Air announced new routes from Cluj-Napoca to Malta and Dubrovnik.
