Wizz Air announced today (Friday, January 30) the launch of a new route between Varna on the Bulgarian coast and Larnaca, Cyprus. The new route will begin operations on June 17, 2026, with three weekly flights scheduled on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
According to the company, this is a direct continuation of its development strategy in Bulgaria, with the new line joining 18 direct lines that Wizz Air will operate from Varna during the upcoming summer season.
Larnaca is considered a favorite summer destination for many European tourists, thanks to its pleasant climate, beaches, and historical cultural sites,- including the Church of Saint Lazarus, Larnaca Castle, Pinakothek Promenade, and the salt lake that attracts thousands of flamingos every year. The area is also home to the "Aphrodite Rock" site, associated with the Greek legend of the birth of the goddess of love and beauty.
Wizz Air's fleet in Bulgaria is entirely comprised of the latest A321neo aircraft, which offer up to 20% lower fuel consumption and reduced emissions, along with lower noise levels. These aircraft currently make up about two-thirds of the company's fleet.
