Strong Winds in Barcelona Cancel More Than 40 Flights

Barcelona's El Prat Airport is experiencing extremely strong winds. Along with the many cancellations and delays, flights have been diverted to alternative airports

Severe weather in the Barcelona area is causing significant disruption to operations at El Prat Airport. According to the airport's statement, more than 40 flights have already been canceled, and the airport is now operating with only one runway.

In recent hours, flights arriving from Dallas, Texas, Beijing, and Doha were unable to land and were diverted to alternative airports.

An announcement on the airport's official website reads: "Adverse weather due to strong winds at the airport. If you are planning to fly to/from Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, please check the status of your flight with your airline. If you need to travel, exercise extreme caution and follow the guidance from official accounts."
