Royal Caribbean is opening the door to more emerging artists with the latest expansion of its Artist Discovery Program, this time aboard its upcoming ship, Legend of the Seas.

The program, which connects local artists with a global audience, is now inviting creatives from both the Caribbean and Central America to submit their work. Submissions are open through March 1, and selected artists will have the chance to create large murals displayed in prominent areas across the ship.

“Our Artist Discovery Program is a testament to how Royal Caribbean creates culturally immersive experiences for guests, connecting vacationers of all ages with the destinations we visit around the world,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean. “We’re excited to expand the program to include emerging artists from Central America alongside the Caribbean and increase the number of locations for large-scale murals on Legend from four to six, creating more opportunities for artists to highlight the diverse destinations we visit through their work.”

The chosen artists will paint the murals in six key locations, including the Royal Promenade, the embarkation area, and the Suite Sundeck spaces, with the purpose of bringing the culture and spirit of the regions directly on board and giving millions of future passengers a deeper connection to the destinations they are ready to visit.

Artists must submit five original concept samples, a short statement explaining their inspiration, and a resume. Their work must not already be published or displayed elsewhere.

The program builds on similar initiatives aboard Icon of the Seas, Star of the Seas, and at Royal Caribbean’s Royal Beach Club Paradise Island in the Bahamas, where local artists’ work helped reflect the character of each destination.

Legend of the Seas is set to debut in Europe in summer 2026, sailing seven-night Western Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona and Rome. Later that year, in November, the ship will move to Fort Lauderdale to begin Caribbean itineraries, including stops in Aruba, Curacao, and Perfect Day at CocoCay.

For Royal Caribbean, the program is about more than decoration. It is about giving artists a platform and letting their stories travel the world.
