Air Canada has announced a new partnership with Pegasus Airlines, expanding flight options between Canada and Turkey.

Under the new interline agreement, Air Canada passengers will be able to book tickets integrated on nine routes operated by Pegasus, with convenient connections via Europe's central airports to Istanbul and Izmir.

Connections will be made via Air Canada destinations in Europe, including Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Athens, Copenhagen, Munich, Geneva, Vienna, and Zurich. Flights will be available from these airports to Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport and Izmir Airport. The connection to Izmir will be made via Frankfurt.

The agreement allows for booking on a single ticket and sending baggage to the final destination, simplifying the transfer experience between the companies. In addition, the two companies are exploring expanding their cooperation to a full codeshare agreement in the future, including mutual benefits in frequent flyer programs and broader cooperation across international networks.

As you may recall, Pegasus recently made headlines after acquiring the Czech airline Smartwings (and Czech Airlines as part of the deal) for €154 million.
