The wave of strikes in Italy continues with a rail services strike expected to disrupt train traffic across the country. The strike will begin today at 9:00 PM (February 27) and will last for 24 hours, until 9:00 PM on Saturday, February 28. The strike may also affect lines to airports.

According to the announcement, there may be disruptions on the Malpensa Express line, which connects Milan Malpensa Airport to Milan city center and back.

Milan Airport notes that during the strike, direct alternative buses will be operated, without intermediate stops, departing from Via Paleocapa 1.
In addition, protected service windows will be guaranteed between 06:00 and 09:00 and between 18:00 and 21:00.

"Passengers are asked to prepare in advance and check the transportation status before leaving for the airport," the  Italian Civil Aviation Authority states.

As published earlier this week, following a nationwide strike in the Italian aviation industry for 24 hours, many flights were canceled yesterday, February 26, 2026. In addition, disruptions and cancellations are expected on flights today, February 27, 2026.
