Latvia's flag carrier airBaltic announced that flight BT9802, departing tonight (Monday, March 2) from Dubai, is operating without passengers due to safety restrictions and regulations by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).

According to existing guidelines, the aircraft is permitted to fly for repositioning with company staff, but is not authorized to carry passengers on a commercial flight at this time.

The company emphasized that the safety of passengers, crew, and operations is its top priority. It also stated that airBaltic continues to monitor developments and is working to resume commercial passenger flights as soon as possible, subject to approval by the authorities and improved conditions.
