Air Canada has paused all flights to and from Dubai and Tel Aviv because of the ongoing military situation in the Middle East. Service to Dubai International Airport and Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport is currently suspended and is expected to resume on March 23, 2026.
If you are in either location, the airline is asking that you do not go to the airport. “Your safety is our top priority.”
For travelers whose flights have been cancelled or disrupted, there are options. You can log in and retrieve your booking to change your flight at no extra cost. If your flight has already been cancelled, the airline says it will contact you directly to explain your choices and next steps.
In case your flight is still operating and you would like to postpone it, you may be eligible to make changes provided you purchased an Air Canada ticket on or before February 28, 2026, for travel between now and March 15, 2026, to, from, or through several airports in the region. The list includes Abu Dhabi, Amman, Beirut, Dammam, Dubai, Erbil, and Tel Aviv.
Passengers scheduled to travel during that timeframe are allowed to change their flight at no extra fees to a different date up to March 31, 2026, provided there is space available in the same cabin they originally booked. If you decide to travel after that period, you may have to pay any fare difference. If you prefer not to travel at all, you can cancel and receive a full refund.
Passengers who booked through Air Canada Vacations will need to contact the vacation arm directly to adjust their plans.
The airline is encouraging customers to keep an eye on official government travel advisories, since the situation can change quickly. It will continue posting updates as they become available and says it is closely monitoring developments in the region. Travelers can expect updates by email or text message with details about rebooking options and any further steps they may need to take.
“We’re very sorry for the impact to your travel,” the company announcement said.
For Canadians currently in the region, there is additional support available. Canadian citizens and permanent residents can register with the government’s Registration of Canadians Abroad service to receive updates. Consular assistance is also available around the clock through the Government of Canada’s Emergency Watch and Response Centre.
