America250, the nonpartisan organization created by Congress to coordinate the nationwide commemoration, has announced a new partnership with American Airlines. The carrier will serve as an official sponsor of the celebration, joining a growing group of companies that plan to help bring events and activities to communities across the country.

The company will mark a century of growth during which it has connected cities across the United States and flown millions of passengers each year.
Through this partnership, American will help promote the 250th anniversary in some very visible ways. Two aircraft will be painted in special America250 livery, turning them into flying tributes that will travel across the country and internationally. The airline will also serve as the Official Airline of America Innovates, a traveling exhibition designed to showcase American creativity, innovation, and technological progress.
“As American Airlines marks our centennial year, we’re honored to join the nation in celebrating 250 years of American independence,” said Caroline Clayton, Chief Marketing Officer at American. “Our history is deeply intertwined with the country’s own story, one of ingenuity, resilience, and a belief that connecting people and places makes us stronger. Partnering with America250 is a meaningful way to honor that legacy and to help inspire the next generation as we look toward the future together.”
American Airlines currently serves more than 600,000 customers every day, totaling over 200 million passengers a year. Its workforce of about 130,000 employees helps keep the airline running, transporting everyone from families on vacation to military personnel and business travelers. The company has also played a role in emergency and disaster relief efforts when communities need support.
Rosie Rios, Chair of America250, said the airline’s long history makes it a natural partner for the celebration.
“American Airlines has spent 100 years connecting our nation and showcasing the spirit of innovation that defines the United States,” she said. “As we approach this historic 250th anniversary, their reach and leadership will help bring Americans together, across cities, states, and generations - to commemorate our shared history and shape our shared future.”
American joins several other major brands supporting the initiative, including Walmart, Coca-Cola, Kraft Heinz, and Stellantis. Organizers say more details about events and partnerships tied to the anniversary will be announced in the months ahead.
