Ethiopian Airlines has announced its direct route connecting Addis Ababa and Atlanta will come back on May 21, 2026, following a hiatus that started in February. The return will restore an important link between Africa and the United States, reuniting Addis Ababa Bole International Airport with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, known as one of the world’s busiest hubs.

Ethiopian Airlines CEO, Mesfin Tasew: “Atlanta is one of the most vibrant markets in the United States, and Ethiopian Airlines is delighted to bring this route back into its network. The route serves growing demand from business travelers, members of the African diaspora, and tourists seeking convenient access to destinations across the African continent.”
The move is part of Ethiopian Airlines’ broader effort to strengthen its transatlantic network. The airline already operates several US routes and continues its global expansion, strengthening its position as a key connector between Africa and the rest of the world.
Tickets for the resumed service are available through the airline’s website, mobile app, and travel partners.
