Ethiopian Airlines Group inaugurated a new premium lounge at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa last week. The opening ceremony was attended by senior government officials, the company's chairman and board members, group management, business partners, and customers.

The new lounge covers an area of ​​approximately 5,500 square meters and includes seating and dining areas, bars, a traditional Ethiopian coffee corner, meeting rooms, a children's room, a grooming and beauty area, a prayer room, a quiet room, a smoking room, a luggage storage area, showers, and other facilities.

The lounge, made possible by an investment exceeding $16 million, can accommodate up to 1,000 passengers at a time, making it the largest at the airport. The design of the complex combines local Ethiopian-inspired elements with modern aesthetics, and is designed to cater to both business and leisure travelers.

The lounge is open to Ethiopian ShebaMiles Platinum and Gold members, Star Alliance Gold members, and members of partner airline frequent flyer clubs.

The airline says that "with this latest facility, Ethiopian Airlines continues to create world-class airport experiences for its passengers traveling via Addis Ababa Bole International Airport from across its global network of more than 145 destinations."

For a Week Only: January-March 2026 Flight Discounts

Meanwhile, the company has launched a 12% discount on flights to select destinations worldwide for bookings made by Sunday, December 28, 2025.

Among the destinations in the promotion, we can mention: Seychelles, Zanzibar, Johannesburg, Kilimanjaro, Cape Town, Nairobi, Mombasa, Bangkok, Delhi, Mumbai, Sao Paulo, and Buenos Aires. The discount applies to flights between January 16, 2026, and March 19, 2026. The promotion is the sole responsibility of the airline.
