The AirlineRatings website has published its ranking of the world's best airlines for 2026, focusing on passenger experience and flight products rather than safety.

The ranking has been established based on criteria such as in-flight service, seat comfort, food, and entertainment, and not by public votes.

Full-Service Airlines: Qatar Airways at the Top Again

Qatar Airways has preserved its top spot in this important category, due to its mix of high value for money, strong economy class product, and award-winning business class.

The airline is followed by Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines. The top five also includes Korean Air and STARLUX Airlines, which is considered one of the standouts this year with rapid growth and improved service.

Hybrid Model Companies: Lufthansa in the Lead

In the hybrid airline category, which combines full-service on long-haul flights with a low-cost model on short-haul flights, Lufthansa leads the way, followed by WestJet and Virgin Australia.

The ranking reflects a broad industry trend, particularly in Europe and the US, where many companies are adopting a flexible model to compete with low-cost carriers.
