AnimaWings Introduces New Direct Routes to Vienna and Frankfurt from Cluj-Napoca Airport

The Young Romanian carrier has announced the launch of new regular services connecting Cluj-Napoca to Vienna and Frankfurt. "The new routes have a direct impact on the development of the airport, by increasing passenger traffic, expanding the coverage area and strengthening connectivity". 2020-founded Romanian airline part of the Memento Group, AnimaWings, alongside Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport and Cluj County Council, have announced the launch of direct regular flights from the sought-after Transylvanian city of Cluj-Napoca to two of Europe's most important air hubs, Vienna (Tuesday and Friday) and Frankfurt (Tuseday and Friday).

"This expansion marks a new stage in the strategic development of the Animawings network, contributing to the diversification of the Cluj International Airport's destination portfolio and to the strengthening of the region's air connectivity, both through routes dedicated to holiday travel and through direct connections to major international air transport hubs," said the airport. 

The routes are also expected to significantly impact the growth of the airport with special emphasis on boosted traffic airport, expanded coverage, and a strengthening of connectivity "at the European and global level."

The airline also recently reached a fleet of seven aircraft after the addition of a new Airbus A220-300. The fleet expansion will lead to the introduction of new routes operated from Bucharest, Timișoara, and Cluj-Napoca.

Vienna is one of Central Europe's main hubs, providing excellent connections to a number of European, Middle Eastern, and Asian destinations, while also representing a favorite transit point for business and leisure travelers.

Frankfurt is not only one of the largest airports in the world, but also a leading intercontinental hub, offering direct connections to hundreds of destinations in North and South America, Asia, and Africa. Passengers flying from Cluj-Napoca to Frankfurt will also benefit from "easy access to long-haul flights operated by major international airlines."

Flights will be operated via Airbus A220 aircraft, offering a high level of comfort and efficiency.
