Maldivian Airlines has announced its first-ever direct passenger flights connecting Melbourne and Malé, marking a major milestone for travelers who have been dreaming of easier access to one of the world’s most sought-after island destinations.

The Malé-based airline, which offers scheduled inter-island service and flights to international destinations, has now become the 43rd international carrier operating through Melbourne Airport. The new nonstop connection eliminates the need for lengthy stopovers and multiple transit flights.

The new weekly service is currently being sold through exclusive flight-and-accommodation packages in partnership with Luxury Escapes, offering Australian travelers a more seamless route to the Maldives.

For the first time, passengers can travel directly from Melbourne to Malé in a single journey, making tropical escapes to the Indian Ocean nation faster and more convenient than ever before.

Known for its turquoise lagoons, luxury overwater villas, white-sand beaches, and warm tropical climate, the Maldives has long been considered a bucket-list destination for honeymooners, luxury travelers, and beach lovers worldwide.

The launch of the route is also expected to strengthen tourism ties between Australia and the Maldives and boost long-haul travel demand from the Asia-Pacific region.
