Canada is combining its love of soccer with its spectacular natural landscapes in preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with an extraordinary initiative that will turn the experience of watching the games into a tourist attraction in itself.

As part of preparations for hosting the tournament, which is expected to attract more than a million visitors to the country, Destination Canada, the country's official tourism organization, launched "Natural Watch Parties", free outdoor viewing events in some of the country's most spectacular natural locations.

The initiative, which is described as the first of its kind in the world, will allow fans to watch the World Cup games on giant screens in the heart of nature, from mountain peaks to coastlines and islands, combining a football atmosphere, Canadian landscapes and local hospitality.

In Toronto, a special viewing event will take place on June 20 on the Toronto Islands, where fans will gather to watch the match between Germany and Ivory Coast. Visitors can arrive by ferry, kayak or canoe, and enjoy the screening against the city skyline, Lake Ontario and surrounding green spaces.

A week later, on June 27, the celebration will move to Vancouver. There, at the top of Grouse Mountain, the Panama-England match will be screened on a giant outdoor screen, in front of a spectacular alpine landscape. After the game, participants will also be able to experience the local culture.

Canada emphasizes that this is an authentic experience that combines the beauty of the game with the beauty of the country's landscapes, and hopes to attract both locals and tourists.

In addition to the two main events, dozens of other activities will be held across the country as part of the World Cup celebrations, including community viewing parties in more than 39 communities. Tickets will be free, but limited.

The World Cup matches will take place between June 11 and July 19, 2026, and will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
