On Wednesday, May 27, 2026, Transport for London (TfL) informed the public about an upcoming "planned strike action" that will disrupt London Underground services between June 2 and June 4, 2026.
"Strikes by RMT Tube drivers will affect some Tube services," explained TfL, with "some disruption" expected during the early mornings of Wednesday, June 3, and Friday, June 5, as services will resume operations.
Today, May 28, 2026, Heathrow Airport announced that, "due to planned engineering works, there will be no Piccadilly line service to/from Heathrow" starting today, Thursday, May 28, and Sunday, May 31, 2026.
The airport informed the public about rail replacement buses that will be used to replace the Piccadilly line "at affected times".
Heathrow Express and bus services will not be affected. "If you're traveling to or from the airport, please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey."
Meanwhile, said the TfL, the strike planned for the start of June will not affect other services, including buses, Elizabeth line, DLR, London Overground, and trams, which will run as scheduled, "but are expected to be busy".
"Plan ahead and allow more time to complete your journey."
The strike follows a major two-part Tube strike on April 21 and 23, 2026, which was followed by a bus strike on April 24, and a 24-hour Tube driver strike on May 19-20 and May 21-22 in response to London Underground’s push for a compressed four‑day working week.
