Starting July 1, 2026, the carrier will temporarily halt services to Langkawi, Krabi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Flights to Siem Reap will be suspended from July 3. The changes are expected to remain in place until September 30, with bookings scheduled to reopen from October 1, 2026.
The airline said the decision was driven by softer demand in the upcoming quarter, elevated operating costs, and ongoing airspace restrictions affecting operations across the region.
"These measured changes are designed to align capacity with current market conditions and demand trends, while ensuring the airline maintains reliability and network integrity across its global destinations. The airline will continue to monitor the situation given the elevated operating costs and continued airspace restrictions."
Despite the network adjustment, IndiGo emphasized that the impact on its overall international footprint will be limited. The carrier will continue operating more than 1,800 international flights each week, retaining the vast majority of its overseas services.
According to the airline, the move is intended to "align capacity with current market conditions and demand trends" while maintaining operational reliability and network stability across its broader international network.
IndiGo added that it remains flexible and could restore the affected routes before October if market conditions improve. The airline said it "stands prepared to reinstate these services earlier than scheduled" should demand strengthen or the operating environment become more favorable.
The carrier also stressed that the temporary suspensions are part of a broader strategy to manage capacity responsibly while minimizing disruption to travelers. Customers affected by the changes will be contacted directly, and the airline is encouraging passengers to verify the latest flight schedules before making travel plans.
The announcement comes as airlines across Asia continue to face cost pressures and operational challenges linked to airspace constraints, fluctuating demand patterns, and broader market uncertainty.
