Four airlines from the Lufthansa Group, Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and ITA Airways, are deepening their cooperation with the Japanese airline All Nippon Airways (ANA) around the joint venture between Europe and Japan.

The goal of the project is to provide passengers with a wider network of lines, more convenient connections, and a significant range of benefits.

The initiative, which has been running since 2012, allows airlines to coordinate schedules, offer combined prices and connect their destination networks in a simple and clear way. Passengers can enjoy a wide range of flight options between Japan and dozens of destinations in Europe, combining flights from multiple airlines under the same booking.

One of the key innovations is the connection between Rome and Japan via Fiumicino Airport. The connection via Rome joins the group's main hubs in Zurich, Munich, Vienna and Frankfurt and expands flight options for passengers from the Mediterranean region.

Along with the expansion of the route network, passengers enjoy greater flexibility in building their itineraries. For example, they can fly to one destination with a particular company and return with another company, combine several cities within the same trip, and enjoy a wider selection of seats even during periods of high demand.

The initiative also provides benefits to business travelers, through a variety of loyalty programs and discounts designed for companies. Among other things, discount routes tailored to organizations are offered, joint points accumulation programs, and tools for managing business travel throughout the network.

According to the companies, the collaboration is designed to create a simple, convenient and flexible travel experience, while increasing choice for both private and business travelers, and expanding the connection between Europe and Japan.
