Drone operators planning to fly near Las Vegas Ballpark this week are being warned to check airspace restrictions before takeoff.

The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a series of Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) around the stadium during upcoming home games of the Athletics.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD), drone flights will be prohibited within a radius of 0.5 nautical miles around the ballpark during designated periods unless specifically authorized by the FAA.

The restrictions are scheduled for:

-June 8 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

-June 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

-June 10 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The no-fly zone applies to both recreational and commercial drone operators.

LVMPD said it will actively enforce the FAA's restrictions and reminded drone pilots that failing to comply with federal airspace regulations could lead to enforcement action.

Temporary Flight Restrictions are commonly used during major sporting events, VIP movements, and other high-security gatherings to protect public safety and prevent unauthorized aircraft activity. At the start of May, the FAA announced major airspace security measures for the FIFA World Cup 2026 including temporary flight restrictions that will be enforced across the United States during the event in an effort to strengthen airspace security around matches and fan events.

Officials are urging drone operators to review airspace requirements before every flight and check for active restrictions through the FAA's TFR system.

The measures come as Las Vegas continues to host an increasing number of major sporting events, bringing heightened security measures both on the ground and in the air around venues across the city.
