Royal Caribbean has officially taken delivery of Legend of the Seas, the third vessel in its groundbreaking Icon Class, marking another milestone in the cruise line's expansion plans.
The handover ceremony took place at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, where more than 1,200 crew members, partners, and executives gathered to celebrate the completion of the ship after nearly two years of construction.

Later this year, the ship will reposition to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for Caribbean itineraries that include visits to Royal Caribbean's popular Perfect Day at CocoCay destination in The Bahamas.

Guests will also find seven pools, the largest pool at sea, an expanded waterpark, surf simulator, rock-climbing wall, and Crown's Edge, a combination skywalk and zip line suspended 154 feet above the ocean.
Entertainment options include productions inspired by Roald Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," live performances of "America's Got Talent," aquatic shows at the AquaTheater, and ice-skating spectacles in the Absolute Zero arena.
"We're incredibly proud to introduce Legend of the Seas to vacationers and continue the legacy of the revolutionary Icon Class," said Royal Caribbean President and CEO Michael Bayley.
The ship also represents another step in Royal Caribbean's sustainability strategy. Powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG), Legend of the Seas features waste heat recovery systems and shore power capabilities as the company works toward its goal of introducing a net-zero cruise ship by 2035.
The delivery is part of Royal Caribbean Group's long-term partnership with Meyer Turku, which includes additional Icon Class ships scheduled for delivery through 2030.
For travelers, the arrival of Legend of the Seas means yet another option in the growing trend toward destination-style cruising, where the ship itself is as much an attraction as the ports it visits.
