Visitors planning to be in central London on June 13, 2026, should expect road closures and restricted access around several major landmarks due to Trooping the Color, one of the most significant events in the British royal calendar.
Areas expected to be affected include The Mall, Constitution Hill, Whitehall, Horse Guards Road, Birdcage Walk, Parliament Square approaches and parts of St James's Park.
The event will, as always, bring together tens of thousands of spectators in central London to celebrate the official birthday of the monarch. The ceremony features military parades, mounted troops, and royal family appearances, attracting visitors from across the UK and abroad.
London's Metropolitan Police have also announced special restrictions on a planned protest during Saturday's celebrations, saying the measures are intended to ensure the event takes place safely and with minimal disruption.

Police said the restrictions were designed to prevent serious disruption to the ceremonial event and reduce potential disturbance to the horses taking part in the parade.
Under the conditions, protesters will be required to remain in a designated area on The Mall, behind the black railings on the North Horse Ride in front of the King George VI Memorial steps. The restriction will remain in place until police officers and event stewards allow members of the public to move further down The Mall.
The Metropolitan Police also said protesters will not be permitted to display flags or use items intended to create noise, including whistles, musical instruments, or amplification equipment, until public access restrictions are lifted.
The announcement comes as London prepares for large crowds around key ceremonial locations, including Buckingham Palace and The Mall. At the start of the month, Metropolitan Police reported assaults on officers, a stabbing incident, and 16 arrests following large crowds near Emirates Stadium.
