Drivers traveling to and from London Luton Airport are being advised to plan ahead due to overnight closures on the M1 motorway.

According to the airport, the M1 will be closed between Junctions 11a and 10 for three consecutive nights starting June 17, affecting southbound traffic and potentially causing delays for passengers heading to early-morning or late-night flights.

Motorists are advised to leave the M1 at Junction 11a and follow a diversion route via the A5 and A5183 before rejoining the motorway at Junction 9 to continue southbound.

Airport officials recommend checking travel plans in advance and allowing extra time for journeys during the closure period.

No Access for Lift and Step-Free to Thameslink

As announced earlier in the month, also from June 15 through mid-September, lift and step-free access to the below-ground Thameslink platforms (Platforms A and B) at London St Pancras International will be unavailable.

Passengers who rely on step-free access and are unable to use stairs or escalators are advised to travel via Farringdon Station, where they can connect to the London Underground’s Circle, Hammersmith & City, or Metropolitan lines to reach or depart from King’s Cross St Pancras.

Travelers heading from Luton Airport Parkway railway station to St Pancras International should use East Midlands Railway services where possible. Passengers boarding between Bedford and Luton may need to take a Thameslink service first before transferring to an East Midlands Railway train for the remainder of their journey into central London.
