Swiss Airlines has announced that, despite the calm in the Middle East and the ceasefire, it is extending the suspension of its flights to and from Dubai until October 24, 2026, for operational reasons.
As you may recall, the company, part of the Lufthansa group, suspended its flights to the main airport following the escalation in the Middle East as early as early March. Since then, it has postponed the resumption of operations on the route several times, and now, with the latest extension, it is expected to complete nearly eight months without flights to the destination, despite the relative calm and ceasefire in the region.
The company will continue to operate the increased flight schedule on the route between Zurich and Delhi until the end of the 2026 summer flight schedule. In addition to the regular daily flight, SWISS will continue to operate an additional daily flight using an Airbus A330 aircraft.
The company notes that demand for flights between Switzerland and India remains high and, accordingly, has decided to continue offering passengers two daily flights on the route to expand flight options and connectivity.
Passengers whose flights were canceled due to the changes will be able to change their travel date free of charge or receive a full refund for their flight ticket. The company also informed that they continue to regularly monitor developments in the Middle East and are in continuous contact with the relevant authorities in Switzerland, the countries in the region and the Lufthansa Group.
