Rome's Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport has once again been recognized as the Best Airport in Europe in the category for airports handling more than 40 million passengers annually, marking the eighth time it has received the prestigious distinction since 2018.

The award was presented by ACI Europe and represents the fifth consecutive year that Fiumicino has topped the rankings among Europe's largest airports.

Operator Aeroporti di Roma (ADR) announced the achievement, highlighting the airport's continued focus on service quality, operational efficiency, innovation and sustainability.

Marco Troncone, CEO of ADR, said the latest recognition demonstrates the strength and consistency of the airport's development strategy.

"Once again confirming Rome Fiumicino's role at the top of European rankings testifies to the continuity of an industrial model that combines service quality, operational efficiency, applied innovation and environmental sustainability," Troncone said.

The award comes as Fiumicino continues to expand its long-term ambitions. ADR is advancing a €9 billion Sustainable Development Plan designed to support projected traffic growth of up to 100 million passengers annually by 2046.

The investment program aims to enhance the airport's infrastructure while strengthening Italy's international connectivity and supporting tourism, trade and economic competitiveness.

As Italy's busiest airport and a major gateway to the country, Fiumicino has become one of Europe's leading aviation hubs, serving millions of travelers each year and connecting Rome with destinations across the globe.

ADR thanked its workforce, known internally as "ADR People," for helping secure the latest accolade and reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining high standards as passenger demand continues to grow.

The latest award further cements Fiumicino's position among Europe's top-performing airports and highlights the growing importance of sustainability and innovation in the aviation sector.
