Plan Ahead and Consider Alternatives
Closures are scheduled to take place between approximately 8:00pm and 6:00am local time, with some works potentially extending beyond standard overnight hours. Drivers traveling in the early morning have been advised to check routes in advance, as closures beginning the previous evening may still be in effect.
The airport operator urged passengers to plan ahead and consider alternative travel arrangements where necessary, warning that disruption could affect airport access during the affected period.
Advance notices published through the Traffic England system show multiple carriageway and slip road closures across sections of the M1 and surrounding major routes, reflecting a broader schedule of coordinated roadworks across England’s motorway network.
Authorities say the works form part of routine maintenance and infrastructure improvement efforts aimed at improving long-term traffic flow and safety across key transport corridors.
Passengers traveling during the closure period are advised to allow extra time for their journeys and check live traffic updates before departure.
