Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is preparing for one of its busiest travel periods of the summer, with approximately 1.6 million passengers expected to pass through the airport between June 26 and July 6.

Airport officials are urging passengers to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys as increased demand is expected to place pressure on parking facilities, terminal areas and security checkpoints.
To help reduce delays, CLT recommends travelers reserve parking in advance through the airport's official parking platform, arrive early for their flights and be prepared for longer-than-usual wait times during peak travel periods.
The airport also reminded passengers to review Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements before arriving. As a lighthearted reminder, officials noted that both sunscreen and even ranch dressing carried through security must comply with the TSA's 3.4-ounce liquid limit for carry-on baggage.

Airports nationwide are preparing for elevated traffic levels around the July 4 holiday, with airlines operating busy schedules as travelers take advantage of the peak vacation season.
As one of the busiest airports in the United States and a major hub for domestic and international connections, Charlotte Douglas plays a key role in handling holiday travel demand across the Southeast and beyond.
With millions expected to travel over the coming days, airport officials are encouraging passengers to monitor flight information, check traffic conditions before leaving for the airport and allow sufficient time for parking, check-in and security screening.
