As the United States will be in the middle of its 4th of July celebrations, with fireworks and special events on Saturday, Singapore will brace for a second round of severe road closures and traffic restrictions ahead of the second combined rehearsal for the National Day Parade (NDP) 2026, which celebrates the country's independence.
According to the Singapore Police, the rehearsal, which follows last week's first rehearsal, is scheduled to take place at the National Stadium in Kallang on Saturday, July 4.
The measures are intended to facilitate the large-scale rehearsal as preparations continue for Singapore's annual National Day celebrations that will take place on August 9.

Access to the affected areas will be limited to authorized vehicles and police and emergency services.
Authorities said police officers, auxiliary police officers, security officers and Singapore Armed Forces marshals will be deployed at key junctions to direct traffic and assist motorists throughout the event.
Drivers have been warned to expect congestion along Stadium Drive, Stadium Boulevard, Stadium Walk, Stadium Crescent, and Jalan Benaan Kapal.
The Singapore Police Force advises motorists to plan alternative routes and, where possible, avoid the affected roads. Tourists and locals traveling to the area are also strongly encouraged to use public transport rather than personal vehicles or taxis.
Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced throughout the operation. Officials warned that vehicles found parked illegally or causing an obstruction will be towed away.
