As previously announced, regular travel options to and from Rome's Fiumicino Airport this summer will be severely affected by a series of planned overnight maintenance work that will bring changes to several train services.

According to Aeroporti di Roma, the national train operator in Italy, Trenitalia, informs passengers traveling to and from Rome Fiumicino Airport on Saturday, July 4, to prepare for temporary changes to the Leonardo Express service. The changes are caused by planned railway infrastructure works.

Trenitalia announced that train operations on the airport rail link will be modified between 8:40 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. local times, with replacement buses operating during the disruption.

The temporary changes affect the Leonardo Express, the non-stop rail service connecting Rome Termini station with Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, one of Italy's busiest transport links.

During the engineering works, passengers will be transferred by substitute buses to ensure travel between the airport and central Rome continues.

Travelers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, particularly those catching flights from Fiumicino Airport, as road traffic could result in longer travel times than the usual rail service.

Trenitalia recommends that passengers check the latest travel information before heading to the station and plan their journeys accordingly.
