This morning, July 7, Aeroporti di Roma has informed the public that the national train operator in Italy, Trenitalia, will perform "scheduled work on the infrastructure", suspending the Leonardo Express and FL1 connections to and from the airport.
Passengers heading to the airport or exiting it will have the alternative of replacement shuttle bus services.
Similar train disruptions were announced for Saturday, July 4, when Trenitalia modified operations between 8:40 a.m. and 11:10 a.m. local times and offered replacement buses on the routes.
The temporary changes will once again affect the Leonardo Express, the non-stop rail service connecting Rome Termini station with Leonardo da Vinci–Fiumicino Airport, one of Italy's busiest transport links.
During the engineering works, passengers will be transferred by substitute buses to ensure travel between the airport and central Rome continues.
Travelers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, particularly those catching flights from Fiumicino Airport, as road traffic could result in longer travel times than the usual rail service.
Trenitalia recommends that passengers check the latest travel information before heading to the station and plan their journeys accordingly.
