Passengers traveling through Newark Liberty International Airport should expect a temporary change to terminal access after airport officials announced that the Level 1 entrances to Terminal B have been closed.
In a notice posted on social media early on Monday (July 5, 2026), the airport advised travelers to use the Level 2 or Level 3 entrances to access Terminal B instead.
Airport officials did not provide a reason for the closure or indicate how long the restriction is expected to remain in place.
Passengers needing assistance are encouraged to speak with an Airport Customer Experience Specialist, who will be available to help direct travelers to the appropriate entrances.
Travelers heading to Newark are advised to allow extra time when arriving at the airport and to check with their airline for any additional updates before departing. At the end of June, the airport also warned about a severe "shortage of taxis due to increased demand", leading to longer wait times for passengers seeking ground transportation.
