Greek Air Force F-16 makes emergency landing on popular Greek island . Photo: Shutterstock A Hellenic Air Force F-16 made an emergency landing at Zakynthos Airport on Thursday after experiencing a technical malfunction during a training mission.
According to the Hellenic Armed Forces, the incident occurred at approximately 1:45 p.m. local time and involved an F-16 from the 335th Squadron of the 116th Fighter Wing.

Military officials said the causes of the malfunction are now under investigation.
At the start of June, a Gulfstream G200 plane attempted to return to La Romana Airport in the Dominican Republic after a problem was reported during the flight, but crashed after making an emergency landing.
Also in June, two people were taken to the hospital after a small aircraft made an emergency landing on a public road in Tenerife, Spain.
