Air Canada’s Aeroplan and World of Hyatt have announced a new collaboration designed to give travelers more ways to earn and redeem rewards across flights and hotel stays.
The partnership connects two major travel loyalty programs, creating expanded benefits across a combined network of more than 1,300 destinations and 1,500 hotels worldwide. Members will now have additional flexibility to use points throughout their journeys, from booking Air Canada flights to staying at participating Hyatt properties.
Free Hotel Stays for Aeroplan Members
Under the new agreement, Aeroplan members can redeem points for World of Hyatt Free Night Awards at eligible hotels and resorts. Category 1-4 and Category 1-7 Free Night Awards will be available starting at 25,000 Aeroplan points.
World of Hyatt members will also gain the ability to redeem Hyatt points for a 30,000-point Aeroplan flight reward certificate, which can be used toward flights with Air Canada and its airline partners.
“This collaboration creates meaningful value across the full travel journey, including new ways to earn, redeem and access benefits across both programs,” said Scott O’Leary, Air Canada’s Vice President of Loyalty and Product.
The partnership also introduces new earning opportunities. Aeroplan members can earn rewards on eligible stays at participating Hyatt hotels and resorts, with members able to choose between earning World of Hyatt points or receiving 500 Aeroplan points per stay.
Aeroplan credit cardholders in Canada will receive additional benefits when linking their accounts. Depending on their card type, members can earn between one and two World of Hyatt Bonus Points and between 1.5 and 2.5 Aeroplan points per eligible Canadian dollar spent at participating Hyatt properties.
The partnership also allows members to transfer points between programs. World of Hyatt points can be converted to Aeroplan points at a 2:1 ratio, starting with 5,000 points. Eligible Aeroplan Elite Status members can also convert Aeroplan points into World of Hyatt Bonus Points at the same ratio.
New Elite Status Benefits
The collaboration includes new opportunities for members to achieve elite status faster.
Aeroplan Elite Status members and eligible Aeroplan Premium Credit Cardholders can participate in a 90-day World of Hyatt status challenge:
-Four nights to earn Discoverist status
-10 nights to earn Explorist status
-20 nights to earn Globalist status
Globalist status provides benefits including complimentary breakfast for up to four guests, room upgrades when available, and late checkout options.
Aeroplan Premium Credit Cardholders will also receive complimentary World of Hyatt Discoverist status, five qualifying night credits each year, and two opportunities annually to complete the status challenge.
World of Hyatt members will also receive benefits through the partnership. Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist members who link their accounts will receive a C$20 Air Canada flight credit. Later in 2026, Explorist and Globalist members will have access to challenges designed to accelerate progress toward Aeroplan Elite Status.
