Wellness Café, Floor-to-Ceiling Windows, New Cabins: Luxury Line Reveals Major Upgrade

Cunard, one of the world's most iconic luxury cruise lines, has unveiled plans for a major refurbishment of Queen Victoria, with the luxury cruise ship set to undergo an extensive transformation later this year ahead of its 2027 sailing season.

Fresh Look, New Onboard Experiences

The 2,000-guest vessel will enter dry dock at Damen Shiprepair in Rotterdam from October 17 to November 5, 2026, before returning to service on November 7 with a refreshed look and several new onboard experiences.

Among the most notable changes are upgrades to some of Queen Victoria's best-known spaces. The Grand Lobby will be redesigned to enhance the arrival experience, while the iconic Queens Room, home to Cunard's traditional Afternoon Tea and gala events, will also receive a makeover.

Cunard, whose flagship was the only ocean liner to take part in America’s 250th Independence Day celebrations, has also announced that it will enhance its premium accommodation offering.

Queens Grill and Princess Grill suites will feature updated furnishings and redesigned interiors aimed at elevating the luxury experience at sea. In addition, the ship will gain eight new Britannia staterooms, including three Britannia Deluxe Oceanview cabins with floor-to-ceiling windows. The new accommodations will be available to book from July 20 for voyages departing from November 11, 2026.

Wellness is playing an increasingly important role across the cruise industry, and Queen Victoria is joining the trend with the addition of The Pavilion Wellness Café. Following successful launches aboard Queen Anne and Queen Elizabeth, the venue will offer a menu centered on plant-based dishes alongside sustainably sourced meat, fish, and dairy options.

"From the Grand Lobby to the Queens Room, every detail has been thoughtfully considered to ensure Queen Victoria continues to deliver the timeless luxury she is known and loved for."

Once back in service, Queen Victoria will embark on a diverse 2027 itinerary that includes sailings across the Mediterranean, the Norwegian Fjords, and the Canary Islands.

The refurbishment underscores Cunard's continued investment in its fleet as demand for premium cruise experiences continues to grow, blending the line's signature British elegance with modern touches designed for today's travelers.
