The airline has announced that its Extra Legroom seating option will no longer be available on Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A380 aircraft. The change affects both passengers purchasing the seats separately and those traveling on fare brands that previously included the benefit.
Going forward, Extra Legroom seats will remain available only on Etihad's Airbus A350, Boeing 777, and Airbus A321LR aircraft.
Passengers seeking additional space on Boeing 787 and Airbus A380 flights will still have the option to purchase Exit Row and Bulkhead seats, which Etihad says will continue to be offered across all aircraft types.
"As these seats are in high demand, we recommend selecting them early," the airline said in a notice to travel partners.
The changes also affect travelers who have already booked Extra Legroom seats on affected aircraft. Etihad confirmed that ancillary purchases for Extra Legroom seating on the Boeing 787 and Airbus A380 will be canceled, with travel agents able to submit refund requests on behalf of passengers.
In addition, guests booked under fare categories that previously included Extra Legroom seating will be required to select alternative seating options available within their cabin.
Etihad said the update is intended to create a more consistent and flexible travel experience as its fleet evolves.
