According to the company, the flight path was chosen to provide optimal viewing conditions for one of the most prominent astronomical events of recent years. This will be the first total solar eclipse to be visible from the Iberian Peninsula since 1912, with a similar eclipse last occurring in 1905.
Iberia notes that in addition to the unique flight experience, the solar eclipse will also be broadcast live via the company's social media channels, so that even those who are not on the plane will be able to follow the event in real time.
In its announcement, the company wrote: "There are flights that take us to new destinations. And others that allow us to view the world from a different perspective."
