Hilton is accelerating its expansion across Ireland with a series of new hotel openings, signings, and brand debuts that will create more than 150 new jobs and significantly strengthen the hospitality giant's presence across the island.

The company, which currently operates eight hotels across six brands in Ireland, said the latest developments will increase its workforce in the country to nearly 1,000 team members.

One of the biggest announcements is the arrival of DoubleTree by Hilton in Ireland. The brand will debut with the conversion of a 156-room hotel in Ashbourne, located around 25 minutes from Dublin Airport. Scheduled to open in early 2027, the property will undergo a comprehensive refurbishment, including upgraded guest rooms, public areas, restaurants, and bars.

Richard McDermott, proprietor of the future DoubleTree by Hilton Ashbourne, said the partnership with Hilton would enhance the guest experience while creating employment opportunities and boosting the local economy.

Hilton has also marked the European debut of Home2 Suites by Hilton with the opening of Home2 Suites by Hilton Dublin City Centre. The new 290-suite hotel introduces Hilton's extended-stay concept to Europe, offering apartment-style accommodation designed for both short and long-term travelers.

Located close to Dublin's O'Connell Street, the property is expected to appeal to business travelers, families, and visitors seeking more flexible accommodation options.

Hilton's Irish expansion also includes its first hotel in Cork. The company recently signed Cork City Centre, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, a 103-room property scheduled to open in 2027.

Developed in partnership with JMK Group, the hotel will feature traditional guest rooms, extended-stay accommodation, a restaurant, bar, and fitness facilities. The project marks Hilton's debut in Ireland's second-largest city while expanding its growing Tapestry Collection portfolio.

Paul Blackmore, Vice President of Development for the UK & Ireland at Hilton, said Ireland continues to be an attractive market thanks to strong tourism demand and growing opportunities across both major cities and regional destinations.

Beyond the Republic of Ireland, Hilton is also continuing its expansion across Northern Ireland.

The company recently celebrated the first anniversary of The Marcus Portrush, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, which marked the brand's debut in Northern Ireland. It has also signed DoubleTree by Hilton Belfast City Ten Square and DoubleTree by Hilton Derry-Londonderry, further strengthening its regional presence.

Looking ahead, Hilton plans to introduce another brand to Northern Ireland with Tempo by Hilton Belfast City Centre, expected to open in the coming years.

The 144-room lifestyle hotel will become the first Tempo by Hilton property outside the United States, representing a major milestone in the global expansion of Hilton's wellness-focused brand.

The latest announcements reflect Hilton's continued confidence in Ireland as both a tourism destination and an investment market, with new hotels expected to boost accommodation capacity while supporting local employment and regional economic growth.
