Eurovision 2027 is shaping up to be one of the competitions that will be more Balkan-centric than ever. North Macedonia is returning to the competition after a four-year absence.

The country's public broadcasting network, MRT, and the European Broadcasting Union have confirmed the country's participation in the contest to be held in May in Burgas.

North Macedonia has participated in 21 Eurovision Song Contests to date. It last performed in Turin in 2022, and over the years it has given the contest a series of artists and songs that have won the audience's sympathy. Macedonia's greatest achievement at Eurovision was in the 2019 contest held in Israel, when it came in seventh place. Seventh, however, is the best it has ever placed.

The return in 2027 is expected to be another opportunity for North Macedonia to introduce the culture, music, and character of one of the most interesting countries in the Balkans to the European audience, this time against the backdrop of Eurovision in neighboring Bulgaria.
